At Starwood Academy of Frisco, community service is more than a concept—it’s a way of life. For over five years, our school has proudly participated in the Adopt-A-Street program, and this tradition continues with enthusiasm and purpose.
As part of this meaningful initiative, UE1 students stepped beyond the classroom and into the world around them, picking up litter along the road our school adopted years ago. Through this hands-on service project, our students not only helped beautify the neighborhood but also gained valuable lessons in responsibility, stewardship, and environmental care.
When asked about their experience, the students’ reflections were heartfelt and inspiring.
"My favorite part was helping the community because it’s important to keep our environment clean."
Another student added, "I liked going around with my friends, picking up trash, and cleaning up our community because it also helps the animals by preventing them from getting harmed from the trash."
The Adopt-A-Street project is a wonderful example of how service learning encourages our students to be responsible citizens and environmental stewards. We are so proud of the UE1 class for their dedication and enthusiasm in caring for our community.
By participating in initiatives like Adopt-A-Street, our students are developing a lifelong commitment to giving back—and making the world a cleaner, kinder place, one piece of litter at a time.
The Starwood Academy of Frisco's difference lies in our approach and dedication to the Montessori pedagogy, our deep community values, and the rich Montessori legacy brought forth by our school founder.
