Supporting Your Child the Montessori Way
These suggestions will help your child develop a love of learning and self-motivation, which is foundational to their continued growth:

- Follow the child in all things.
- Slow down and move at the child’s pace. Trust the child’s ability to learn and develop at his or her own pace.
- Observe, then react.
- Respect the child as a whole person. Treat the child as you would be treated.
- Help your child with the hardest part of a task (not the whole task).
- Be consistent; follow routines and clear sequences for each activity.
- Let go of perfection. What you are experiencing now is not the final goal. It is foundational.
- The process is important, not the product.
- Enjoy and appreciate time with your child.
