Starwood Hosts 2025 AMS Symposium

Starwood Academy of Frisco is proud to announce that we will host the 2025–2026 American Montessori Society (AMS) Regional Symposium Tour kickoff on Saturday, October 4, 2025. This important event will bring Montessori educators, leaders, and advocates together for a day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.

As part of the symposium, participants will engage in keynote addresses, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities designed to strengthen Montessori education across the region. Hosting the event at Starwood underscores our school’s deep commitment to fostering professional growth and advancing Montessori practice.

Adding to the excitement, Ms. Hanks, Head of School at Starwood Academy and current AMS Board President, will serve as a featured presenter during the symposium. Her leadership in both our community and at the national level exemplifies the values of collaboration and vision that this gathering represents.

We are also delighted to share that Ms. Rao, our Middle School Guide and Director of Curriculum and Instruction, will lead a workshop on “Cosmic Education, Psycho-Disciplines, and Self-Construction Across the Planes of Development.” This session will explore how Montessori’s framework for human development equips educators to guide students toward self-discovery, responsibility, and a holistic understanding of their place in the world.

The AMS Regional Symposium offers a meaningful opportunity for Montessori educators in Texas to come together, exchange ideas, and strengthen the bonds of our professional community. We are honored to serve as the host for this inaugural stop on the tour and look forward to welcoming colleagues from across the state.
