In the lower elementary classroom, each day begins with a community meeting, where students gather to share, reflect, and collaborate. This time fosters a strong sense of belonging and gives students a voice in shaping their classroom environment. When challenges arise, the class works together to listen, problem-solve, and find solutions that ensure all perspectives are valued.

Lower elementary students venture beyond the classroom, engaging in hands-on learning experiences at museums, nature preserves, and cultural sites. These field trips are directly connected to classroom studies, reinforcing key concepts and encouraging students to make meaningful connections between their learning and the world around them.

As students transition into lower elementary, they expand their learning beyond the core curriculum by attending Spanish, art, music, and physical education classes. Led by specialized instructors, these courses provide creative expression, cultural exploration, and movement, enriching students' daily experiences and fostering a love of learning in multiple disciplines.

By third grade, students step into leadership roles, demonstrating independence and responsibility. They take ownership of their learning by leading their own conferences, sharing their growth with parents and guides. Additionally, they manage inventory and ordering for the Primary Shop, serve as reading buddies to PLC students, and begin participating in student council meetings, gaining leadership experience that prepares them for upper elementary and beyond.
